Established in 2022, The Youth in Transition (YIT) Transitional Housing Program was designed to prevent youth homelessness in the community and provide safe housing.
Accommodations include:
Individual, furnished apartments (6 units)
Rent geared to income
Housing worker
Counselling
One to one support
Practical and life skills support
E.g., cooking/ cleaning, transportation, accompaniment to appointments, system navigation, housing, schooling, connections to other services
Group programming
Eligibility:
Youth aged 16 - 29
All genders
Experiencing unstable housing accumulations or in need of support
Referrals can be sent in by other agencies, including but not limited to: AMHS, Family and Children Services, schools (teachers), counsellors/ psychotherapists, etc.

Last year, we welcomed a total of 12 youth into the program, as 6 youth transitioned out of the program within the year.
