Our Services
No one deserves to be abused. You are not to blame & it is not your fault. We believe you and are here for support.
1 in 4 Canadian women are assaulted by their partner. Tell someone you trust, seek medical attention, and have injuries documented. We are here to help you seek safety for yourself and your children. Our services are for women, children, and youth who have experienced violence or abuse from others in their life, whether with an intimate partner, family member, or peer.
Individual counselling and group programs are offered in Lennox and Addington County. We have a location in Napanee but also offer services in Amherstview and Deseronto. All of our outreach counselling and programs are free. Women and youth residing at LAIH who transition to living elsewhere can always continue to access counselling and group supports.

Children's Services
Trauma growing up in an abusive home can affect every aspect of a child's life, growth and development.
Abuse can make children less likely to succeed in school, more likely to suffer and commit violence, and more likely to face a host of health problems that can last throughout their lives. A recent study found that school age children who witness abuse exhibit a range of behaviours including depression, anxiety, and violence towards peers.
The cycle of violence can be broken. Children require and deserve interventions that are encouraging and allow them to explore their feelings, experiences, and emotions. Through therapeutic play, activities, and counselling, we work with children to promote healthy self esteem and build confidence.

Our children's outreach counsellor works with children (age 3 to 16) who have witessed abuse or who are navigating the transition period with their mothers who are fleeing abuse.
